报告人简介：

Duane C. Praschan，美国Evangel大学工商管理学院教授，曾任组织领导课程和工商管理系主任，长期任教个人与团队领导、领导理论、战略管理、劳动力选择与开发、组织领导等课程，先后出版《领导一个学习型组织: CIMPLE模型》、《个人理财变为简单》、《MRI操作安全问题》等著作，并发表多篇学术论文。曾在中国、芬兰、匈牙利、墨西哥和美国等国多所大学担任客座教师，在劳动力选择与开发、项目管理和小型团队领导领域具有高深的学术造诣。

报告内容简介：

The lecture entitled “Working in a Global Environment” addresses many of the issues that employers and employees are facing today.In previous generations, most employees worked in the same building as their supervisor and provided products and services for a local market.This is not true today.Most companies have products and services that reach domestic and international markets.This, along with the current generation raised with social media and technology, has created unique issues and opportunities not seen before.These issues exist whether one works in a global company or is simply providing products or services to international marketplace.This is more than culture, but involves such things as: working virtual versus face-to-face; self-motivation; cultural sensitivity; understanding the difference between culture and personality; how to give effective feedback; understanding people versus task; understanding my customer; and the importance of integrity.

Dr. Duane Praschan, our guest speaker was an executive for Philips Healthcare – a global company headquartered in the Netherlands.His team had employees from five different countries.He was on a leadership team that had members from various countries and cultural backgrounds.He worked extensively in Europe and assisted Philips Healthcare in setting up their Chinese facility here in Suzhou.He will be sharing insights that will help us be better prepared and successful in this global work environment.He will be sharing what he learned that allowed him to be successful while working for Philips Healthcare.

Dr. Praschan has a degree in Chemical Engineering and a doctorate in Leadership Development.
